Job Description
- Provide nursing care to adult patients (18) in a 52-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital.
- Care for patients recovering from stroke brain injury neurological conditions trauma spinal cord injury amputation and orthopedic injury.
- Deliver intensive patient-focused specialized rehabilitation services tailored to individual patient needs.
- Monitor and support patients throughout their recovery journey maximizing health function and quality of life.
- Manage a patient load with a typical 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Work with patients requiring wound care tracheostomy care isolation protocols and the use of restraints.
- Utilize CERNER electronic health record (EHR) system for documentation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary rehabilitation team members.
- Perform duties during 12-hour shifts (day or night) with some weekend requirements.
- Maintain safety and infection control standards (e.g. closed-toed shoes short nails no acrylics).
- Must possess current BLS certification and at least 6 months of experience in rehab or inpatient setting (2 years preferred).
- Follow facility policies and procedures including dress code and reporting instructions.
- Engage with patients who typically have a 12-day length of stay in the unit.
- Report to designated supervisors upon arrival and coordinate with unit leadership as needed.
