Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Operations:
- Supervise and direct maintenance staff on shift overseeing their assigned tasks.
- Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs for building systems.
- Respond to and resolve maintenance requests and equipment malfunctions ensuring minimal disruption and downtime.
- Assist in installing maintaining repairing and operating critical facility systems including HVAC electrical and life safety systems.
Team Management:
- Provide training and guidance to maintenance staff to enhance their skills and professionalism.
- Monitor staff performance and ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities equipment readings and inventory and perform quality assurance audits as required to ensure clients compliance.
- Assist in preparing purchase orders for necessary supplies and equipment and accurately report when maintenance and repair work is done for billing purposes.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for various maintenance tasks.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Support Role:
- Assist the Chief Engineer as needed and assume their responsibilities in their absence.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with emergency escalation procedures.
- Participate in on-call rotations to address after-hours emergencies.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 4 years of technical and hands-on experience in facility/plant/data center engineering maintenance
- 2 years of supervisory experience
Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems (cooling tower chiller pump and valve) boilers plumbing controls electrical systems (UPS STS PDU emergency generators and switchgear).
- Familiarity with building automation systems and preventive maintenance practices
- Basic computer skills including use of MS Office and maintenance management software
