Job Description

Job Summary
The faculty member is responsible for teaching Behavioral Health courses across classroom skills/simulation lab and clinical settings. The role also includes active involvement in the development implementation and ongoing evaluation of the program.

Essential Functions
Instructional Responsibilities Teach assigned classes and labs with lecture equivalent hours ( LEH ) aligned with program curriculum Communicate clear learning objectives to students Develop and deliver high-quality assessments to measure student learning outcomes Continually enhance instruction by evaluating and updating teaching methods and delivery modalities Maintain a positive and effective learning environment across all instructional settings (in-person hybrid or online) Identify at-risk students and implement early interventions to support success Recommend appropriate textbooks and instructional materials Curriculum and Program Responsibilities Develop implement and evaluate curriculum in alignment with program and accreditation standards Participate in the creation implementation and enforcement of academic and program policies Maintain academic and program records in compliance with college and accrediting body requirements Supervise students in clinical settings to ensure safe effective learning experiences Student Support and Advising Provide academic guidance and counseling related to student success Offer access through posted office hours and timely electronic communication (e.g. Canvas and email) Participate in student recruitment advising and retention efforts Professional and Collegial Duties Serve on departmental divisional and college-wide committees as assigned Assist in orienting new full-time and part-time instructors and clinical preceptors Participate in official college events such as graduation and nursing pinning ceremonies Engage in professional development activities to remain current in the discipline Contribute to college and community service activities of your choosing Foster positive relationships with community and healthcare organizations Other Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands
Mobility and Movement Ability to remain seated or stationary for extended periods (up to 50% of the time) Ability to occasionally move between campus locations and travel to off-campus sites Able to ambulate as needed to supervise students in clinical settings Capable of moving equipment or boxes weighing up to 20 pounds Manual and Sensory Requirements Frequent use of hands and fingers for tasks requiring manual dexterity (e.g. keyboarding) Ability to observe and identify details at close range Frequent verbal and written communication; must be able to exchange accurate information clearly Work Environment Able to perform duties in various settings including office classroom clinical and outdoor environments Willingness and ability to work extended hours and participate in Midland College or community events as needed

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in psychology social work medicine nursing rehabilitation counseling sociology human development physician assistant studies special education educational psychology early childhood education or early childhood intervention. Relevant work experience may substitute for education Minimum of three years of clinical experience in a hospital or community clinic aligned with departmental and teaching needs Certification by the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Valid Texas drivers license insurable under Midland College policy and a clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in psychology nursing social work medicine human development or a related field College-level teaching experience Familiarity with instructional technology
