Paraeducator III - Library - Meridian CreekMiddleSchool
This is a7 hr/day 10 month position under the Classified Bargaining Unit for the 25-26 SY. The start date isAugust 212025.
Please note: All Paraeducators in the first year are temporary.
DEFINITION
Under the supervision of a teacher or principal works with and/or prepares material for children in the school library. Completes clerical responsibilities in the library and performs related work as required. This position provides tutorial assistance to individuals and to small groups in a number of different subjects at all levels of education.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
An employee in this position is expected to have the ability to help the teacher establish and maintain a climate of learning; have the ability to use own initiative in responding to students day-to-day needs; and must be able to discipline students when the occasion demands.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Corrects mechanical errors in papers; helps keep students up to date on assignments; types and/or makes copies of materials for classroom use; monitors classroom work the teacher has prepared and becomes familiar with daily and weekly assignments in all classes to be able to help students and answer questions; works individually with students at all levels of reading comprehension mathematics and vocabulary; keeps classroom in order changes bulletin boards as directed; participates in various testing procedures scoring and progress; prepares instructional materials; enters student data; files correspondence; completes related clerical tasks and shadows students to monitor behavior and interpersonal relationships.

High school diploma or equivalent as required by Oregon Administrative Rules/Oregon Department of Education. To be considered Highly Qualified applicant must have AA AS degree 72 credits Paraeducator Program or equivalent exam.
