Under limited supervision this position supports the County Nurse Manager in managing programs staff and clinical services at the Clarke County Health Department. The assistant provides professional nursing care in alignment with Northeast Health District nurse protocols policies and procedures with an emphasis on illness prevention injury and disability reduction and the promotion of community health.
This role assists in identifying and collaborating with community partners healthcare providers and agencies to strengthen public health initiatives. Working closely with the Clarke County East Athens Clinic Teen Matters Clinic and under the direction of the Clarke County Nurse Manager the assistant helps plan and implement community events and coordinates health service delivery within the community.
As a PH Nursing Supervisor within the Clarke County Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.Job Responsibilities
- Leads and manages staff with responsibility for the functioning of assigned nursing care areas during assigned shifts.
- Provides clinical services to a target population following protocols
- Chart information regarding patient: progress diagnoses medication symptoms and observations.
- Assumes responsibility for administrative decisions and notifies leadership on call when needed in County Nurse Managers absence
- Provides leadership and creates and maintains a high performance environment
- Works to continually improve the quality and timeliness of the provided care and services.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
OR
Two years of experience at the lower-level PH Registered Nurse 2 (HCP191) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience in a clinical or public health setting.
- Prior experience working in public health including familiarity with community health programs outreach and population-based care.
Annual salary is $70000. Plus generous benefits include 13 paid holidays annual and sick leave health insurance and retirement plans.
