Job Description
Job Title: Pipe Fabricator
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipe Fabricator to join our client s fabrication and installation team. The ideal candidate must be proficient in interpreting piping drawings and blueprints fabricating pipes to specification and ensuring high-quality standards in welding and assembly. This role demands hands-on expertise in various fabrication tools materials and techniques used in industrial piping systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret engineering drawings isometrics and P&ID layouts.
Cut bevel and fit pipes using manual and power tools (grinders cutters etc.).
Measure mark and layout piping systems based on technical drawings.
Prepare pipes for welding and coordinate closely with welders and supervisors.
Carry out tack welding and support positioning of pipe spools and fittings.
Use equipment like pipe benders flange facers threading machines and jacks.
Verify pipe alignment orientation and fit-up prior to welding.
Conduct dimensional checks using measurement instruments (tapes levels calipers).
Follow strict safety and quality protocols on-site or in the workshop.
Maintain cleanliness tool organization and housekeeping in the work area.
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Fabrication / Fitting or related trade.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pipe Fabricator in Oil & Gas Shipbuilding or related industries.
Strong technical knowledge of piping systems materials (CS SS alloys) and fittings.
Proficient in pipe layout cutting threading grooving and tack welding.
Ability to read and work from fabrication drawings isometrics and schematics.
Familiarity with pipe supports flanges elbows valves and coupling systems.
Good understanding of welding processes (SMAW TIG MIG basic knowledge).
Basic knowledge of QA/QC procedures and safety standards.
Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
Attention to detail and precision in measurements and alignment.
