Job purpose

Native Solutions Family Guidance Center is seeking a skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide therapeutic supervised visitation services to families in our community. This role focuses on supporting families during supervised visitation sessions by providing a safe structured and therapeutic environment. The LCSW will work with parents and children to strengthen relationships improve communication and address underlying behavioral and emotional challenges. LCSW is responsible for providing direct assistance and educational support to families and children referred for Supervised Visitation services. Adhering to agency policies and professional standards duties include scheduling transportation face-to-face supervision audio/video supervision and conducting fully or semi-supervised visits at designated sites. Additionally the facilitator will offer parents training and education before and after visits. The target population served includes families and children involved with the Department of Child Services and Family law custodial cases. The LCSW provides clinical assessment diagnosis and evidence-based therapeutic services to individuals families or groups struggling with mental health issues substance use disorders trauma or co-occurring conditions. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support emotional healing behavioral change and long-term recovery. The LCSW also ensures continuity of care through case management referrals and discharge planning.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Supervised Visitation Services
  2. Conduct therapeutic supervised visitation sessions that promote healthy parent-child interactions.
  3. Monitor interactions between parents and children providing guidance to help improve communication and attachment.
  4. Ensure safety and maintain clear boundaries throughout each visitation session.
  5. Therapeutic Support
  6. Use therapeutic techniques during sessions to address behavioral emotional and relational issues.
  7. Provide coaching to parents on positive parenting practices conflict resolution and effective communication skills.
  8. Observe family dynamics and provide constructive feedback to support family development and healing.
  9. Regularly review and update progress notes.
  10. Monitor treatment outcomes and adjust approaches as needed.
  11. Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and mental health evaluations.
  12. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client needs. Provide individual group and family therapy using evidence-based practices.
  13. Monitor client progress modify treatment plans as needed and complete regular case reviews.
  14. Assessment & Treatment Planning
  15. Perform initial assessments to understand family history dynamics and areas of concern.
  16. Develop treatment plans tailored to the needs of each family incorporating culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approaches.
  17. Adjust treatment plans as needed based on ongoing observations and feedback from families.
  18. Collaboration & Advocacy
  19. Coordinate with case managers therapists and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for families.
  20. Act as an advocate for children and families helping them access community resources as needed.
  21. Work closely with court systems child welfare agencies and other relevant parties to meet any legal requirements for supervised visitation.
  22. Documentation & Reporting
  23. Maintain detailed confidential records of each supervised visit including observations interactions and follow-up recommendations.
  24. Ensure documentation meets agency policies ethical standards and any legal requirements.
  25. Provide progress reports to relevant parties including court systems or child welfare agencies as needed.

Other Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned 25%

  • File Organizing: They handle the organization and maintenance of physical and digital files ensuring that documents are easily accessible and securely stored.
  • Scheduling Appointments: They manage calendars for executives or teams coordinate meeting times and ensure that schedules are kept up to date.
  • Assisting Staff Members: Administrative assistants often help with various tasks needed by other staff such as preparing materials for meetings handling travel arrangements or providing support for projects.
  • Drafting Correspondences: They prepare and proofread letters emails reports and other communications ensuring clarity and professionalism.


These responsibilities ensure that the Licensed Clinical Social Worker provides comprehensive support to families while maintaining a safe and structured environment for supervised visits. Activities are governed through a professional code of ethics and rules of confidentiality. A thorough knowledge in the areas of family functioning as mentioned in the description. Effective skills should be demonstrated in dealing with families involved in abuse/neglect situations as well as those involved in juvenile delinquency and child development issues. Additionally the Licensed Clinical Social Worker will assist with administrative tasks including organizing and maintaining files and records scheduling and coordinating appointments and meetings drafting and proofreading correspondence and reports managing office supplies and inventory supporting staff with various project needs handling customer inquiries and ensuring effective communication.



Minimum Qualifications: Licensed Clinical Social Worker

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
  • Current and valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of employment.
  • Must be in good standing with the state licensing board.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with active licensure in CA.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical or community mental health settings preferably with families or children.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care family systems and therapeutic interventions for families in crisis.
  • Experience working with underserved communities with a commitment to culturally sensitive practices.
  • Excellent communication organizational and observational skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Background Check: Must complete fingerprinting and background checks including FBI DOJ CACI and Sex Offender registry upon hire. These will be conducted at the agencys expense. Employment depends on successfully clearing these checks; failure to do so will result in the job appointments withdrawal.
  • Mandatory Training: All employees at Native Solutions are required to attend 40-hour Supervised Monitor Training regardless of whether they perform duties as a supervised monitor.
  • Experience working with specific populations such as:
  • Substance use disorder clients
  • Dual diagnosis/co-occurring disorders
  • Children/adolescents or geriatric populations
  • LGBTQ individuals
  • Trauma survivors
