About the role
This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability.
We have multiple casual positions available across our Lifestyles & Supported Living programs supporting people with disabilities living in the community in Alice Springs.
Working in a team you will be actively supporting their individual complex needs by creating a safe environmentand ensuring services are provided in a culturally appropriate provide the best support you will be an experienced Disability Support Worker with a range of experience across social support behaviour support personal care complex health needs manual handling and hoisting.
Our clients in Alice Springs enjoy arts & crafts gardening dancing music and engaging in community and culture.
These roles will require successful applicants to be available and willing to work within a 24/7 roster that includes regular shift work including night shifts weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide active person-centred support
- Follow behaviour support plans
- Promote client goals through enjoyable activities
- Provide personal care
- Ensure safe manual handling and hoisting
Skills & Experience
- Personal Care experience
- Previous experience working with people with complex health needs
- Experience with behaviours of concern and following behaviour support plans
- Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
- Current Provide First Aid Certificate & CPR
- Sound understanding and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and issues affecting Aboriginal people.
