Level 3: The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people frequently (e.g.
once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process for staff.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The key purpose of this post is to provide psychosocial support services in compliance with the relevant SCI guidelines at the country office level in support to Egypt Response program. Under the supervision of the Response Team Lead MHPSS officer and the Mental Health Psycho Social Support (MHPSS) Technical Advisor (TA) the psychologist will be responsible for providing individual/group sessions for at risk children and youth in need of psychosocial support identified through the project activities and referrals. S/he will be responsible for conducting the needed assessments and customizing the session topics based on the identified needs of the target group. S/he will also be responsible for organizing group support and awareness sessions to children at risk and their families and referring those with acute psychological needs to specialized services. The role holder might be at least 50% working in the field with frequent travels outside duty station.

QUALIFICATIONS
A university degree in psychology.
2-3 years of experience in family and/or child counselling experience in working with migrants and refugees is an asset.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including team-leading and influencing.
Extensive experience in delivering trainings.
Experience in providing MHPSS services to children adolescents and youth is an asset.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in Arabic and English are required.
Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and able to take decisions independently in a fluid context.
Experience with refugee/marginalized communities is desired.
Commitment to Save the Children values and Child Safeguarding.
Additional job responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the role holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role
profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
