Job Description:
The Specialist Systems Engineer (SE) Test Director performs technical planning system integration verification and validation ground testing and flight testing for total systems and or subsystems. The Specialist SE Test Director is part of a team that supports the requirements design development test and integration of complex specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communication platforms. The Specialist SE Test Director communicates with management engineering and customers to coordinate and execute test activities.
Essential Functions:
- Understand physical architectures incorporating voice video and data capability across multiple security domains.
- Review and evaluate documentation to ensure system requirements.
- Understand test integration verification and validation planning.
- Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
- Perform requirement traceability.
- Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret (SCI) security clearance.
- Identify and solve problems using logical engineering thought processes.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel Visio and PowerPoint.
- Understand test integration verification and validation planning.
- Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
- Familiarity with Aircraft Maintenance Manuals.
- Knowledge of FAA Documentation (Regulations Advisory Circulars Airworthiness Directives Etc.)
- Engineering efforts involving FAA-certified general/transport category aircraft.
- Troubleshooting aircraft systems including diagnosis of malfunctions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and four (4) years of prior test integration verification and validation planning experience.
- Graduate degree and two (2) years of prior test integration verification and validation planning experience.
- In lieu of a degree a minimum of eight (8) years of prior test integration verification and validation planning experience.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Top Secret with SCI security clearance with CI Poly.
- Experience working with subcontractors and U.S. Government customers.
