0.4 FTEJob DescriptionJob Title: English Learner (EL) TeacherReports to: Building Principal(s) EL Coordinator Qualifications:Certified as an ESL TeacherMasters Degree Preferred Job Duties:1. Provides specialized instruction for the purposes of developing the students ability to access and apply the Massachusetts Common Core State Standards; coordinates appropriate strategies and instruction with other educational programs identified for the student(s). 2. Plans organizes and provides instruction in English in the Common Core State Standards and the WIDA ELD Standards. Instruction must be consistent and coordinated with the individual students instructional programs so that students meet learning targets and the requirements outlined in relevant state and federal laws. 3. Develops and delivers lesson plans utilizing a broad range of appropriate differentiated techniques and strategies addressing all aspects of communication that develop each students ability to read write speak and listen in content areas at levels that ensure learners meet or exceed learning targets and allow English learners to meaningfully access the districts instructional program. academic and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating students progress in meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition. Maintains complete and accurate records of students progress and evidence of growth and progress. 5. Provides a nurturing supportive and positive learning environment with high expectations that encourage student responsibility enhance motivation clearly communicate classroom routines and incorporate challenging instructional strategies. 6.
