Job Description

The Glennie School located in Toowoomba Queensland is an Anglican day and boarding school for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12 with boarding for students from Year 5. The School enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its programs care and support offered to students as well as the commitment dedication and professionalism of its staff.

About the role:

Reporting to the Sports Centre Manager we are seeking to appoint several Learn to Swim Assistants who are enthusiastic team members and are keen to assist with children to develop swimming and water safety.

The swim assistants responsibilities include assisting with swimming and water safety lessons and setting up and packing away all swimming aids and equipment.

The Learn to Swim classes are held at our indoor heated pools. Classes vary from group lessons casual lessons to one-on-one private lessons and our programs are suited to infants up to adults of all ages and abilities all year round.

About You:

  • Demonstrated experience in communication teamwork organisation time management skills and attention to detail.
  • An ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undertake a variety of tasks and learn new skills.
  • Able to engage and work with a range of stakeholders particularly young people and their parents.
  • Ability to establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Familiarity with legal obligations relating to child safety including mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card Blue Card in accordance with No Card No Start law as per the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000.

The successful applicants must have the availability to work weekends and varying shift times.
