Job Description

Teacher/Special Education

The Special Education Teacher in the CDC classroom is responsible for providing instruction to special needs students and maintaining required paperwork at federal state and local levels. Also responsible for teaching TN State Standards and leading students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual emotional psychological growth and maturation. Assisting students with daily life functions (toileting eating etc.) may be required. The teacher will lead a classroom with multiple assistants managing a team setting.This Full Time position DOES include benefits.

Applicants must have a current valid educator license with appropriate endorsement(s) to serve all special needs populations modified and comprehensive. Additional endorsements in English Math (Alg. I) or Science preferred. CPR/First Aid certifications are required. Must have strong written verbal presentation and interpersonal skills. Must have satisfactory background/fingerprint checks as required by the Tennessee State Department of Education and state law. Must meet health and physical requirements.
