The Maintenance Technician Apprentice supports appliance manufacturing operations to ensure equipment reliability and uptime in support of safety quality delivery and cost objectives. It is an industrial maintenance apprentice role involving machine setup troubleshooting repair and preventative maintenance to mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.Trainees will be assigned to a mentor.
Trainees will work 3 days per week and attend school 2 days per week (1st shift). They are expected to work during school breaks and school inclement weather days.
Trainees will be required to take all appropriate safety training as determined by the company and the mentor.
Trainees will be offered overtime after the full list has been offered across all 3 shifts.
Trainees will not be used as Journeymen or Replacement Operators.
Trainees will be on probation during the 2-year program.
Trainees may pursue the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program beginning at MA3 level (see chart below) after completion of the KY FAME program pending management approval.
Trainees are required to participate in rotational evaluations during the 2-year program and are required to successfully complete each core AMT technical course with a C grade or higher to remain in the KY FAME program.
Trainees who fail to meet the academic requirements to graduate from the 2-year program within the allotted 5 semesters will be terminated from the program. They may be offered employment in an hourly role per the needs of GE Appliances. Trainees who are not considered hirable or who refuse this role will be terminated from the company and will be required to repay any tuition reimbursement funds per the Retention Agreement.
Trainees who fail to meet performance attendance or ethics expectations on the job will be terminated from the program. They may be offered an hourly role per the needs of GE Appliances. Trainees who do not qualify for hire or who refuse the offered role will be terminated from the company and will be required to repay any tuition reimbursement funds per the Retention Agreement.
