Work Schedule/FLSA Status:12-month/ 261 day Salaried / Exempt
Salary Schedule:Omaha School Administrators Association (OSAA) Level 2/Salary credit may be awarded for applicable experience. Placement on the salary schedule will follow theapplicable summary document.
Position Purpose:The Project Coordinator of Professional Learning and Development assists the Office of Professional Learning and Development in planning organizing management and implementation of various professional learning services systems and programs as assigned. This role will also support the implementation of professional learning aligned to the Science of Reading and all Districtimprovement priorities.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support professional learning related to District priorities.
- Lead design and maintain the Office of Professional Learning and Development web pages.
- Lead and manage processes to design and maintain interactive access to a staff professional learning catalog.
- Support and/or lead the development and facilitation of synchronous and asynchronous professional learning opportunities as directed by supervisor.
- Work with Professional Learning and central office staff to support implementation of systems and processes to support the Arc of Learning and Professional Learning Framework.
- Assist with the coordination and logistics for virtual and in-person staff professional learning opportunities and provide support in preparation setup and tear down of such events.
- Lead or support facilitation of in-person and virtual professional development for certified and classified staff providing support and development opportunities.
- Develop and maintain systematic processes for communications to and from the Office of Professional Learning and Development.
- Nurture and cultivate educators staff and schools to integrate evidence-based practices for adult learning in professional learning opportunities and trainings.
- Evaluate programming through both quantitative and qualitative assessments including developing case studies of individual schools and educators as well as piloting new resources and gathering participant feedback.
- Maintain and report participant attendance rates and feedback.
- Support the Office of Professional Learning and Development with staff induction grow our own programs and District-level professional learning and supports.
- Participates in development and facilitation of Canvas Learning Management System professional learning opportunities in collaboration with Information Management System department.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of bachelors degree preferred.
- Successful experience in an education setting preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canvas Learning Management System and resources.
- Knowledge of Canvas Catalog system integration.
- Advocates and practices safe legal and responsible use of informationand technology.
- Exemplary skills in developing and facilitating multi-modal presentation and professional development.
- Exemplary organizational oral and written communication skills.
- The skills pertinent to foster positive human relationships and the ability to work effectively with instructional staff students parents administrators and the community.
- Extensive knowledge of Office 365 tools.
- Familiarity with District initiative and supporting research.
Additional Duties:
Performs other related tasks as assigned by central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent or designee.
Equipment:This position may require the ability to use SMART boards/televisions and iPads as well as basic office equipment such as computers copiers and scanners. Must always comply with OPSs guidelines for equipment use.
Travel:Travel between schools and central offices may be required.
Physical and Mental Demands Work Hazards:
- Must be able to respond rapidly in emergency situations.
- Must have organization time management communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work in school building and central officeenvironments.
Interrelations:
- Contact with personnel within the district and with customers and vendors.
- Will be working under the direct supervision of central office administration in specified department in order to complete day-to-daytasks.
- Will be working with a diverse population requiring the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Must understand and respond appropriately to customer needs and maintain a positive attitude with all customers and colleagues.
- Expected to interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly professional manner and provide quick responsive customer service.
Employee Punctuality and Appearance
- In order for schools to operate effectively employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday unless the employee has received approved leave.
- Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employees supervisor or building administrator.
- All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of Omaha Public Schools and is appropriate for their position.
- Regular attendance is important.
Terms of Employment
This position is treated as a full-time exempt classified position. The terms of your employment will be governed by applicable state laws regulating employment in a Nebraska public school and Board of Education policies as those laws and policies may change from time to time. If your position is represented by a collective bargaining representative then your employment will also be governed by a negotiated agreement between OPS and that collective bargaining representative.
