You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailConduct timely follow up and case management services for newborns with abnormal dried blood spot screening test results. Analyze laboratory results to determine appropriate actions for follow up. Coordinate follow up activities among and between physicians hospitals parents and testing centers to ensure proper timely services and care.
Document all actions in the appropriate patient record and laboratory management information databases to ensure proper documentation of continuous. Prepares reports as needed.
Participate in CQI activities including long and short term project planning and review of protocols to maintain efficient and effective program operations. Develops effective monitoring and evaluation procedures for new and ongoing disorders to assure program conformance and integrity.
Attends newborn screening partner meetings follow up team meetings and huddles as well as webinars/workshops to increase newborn screening best practices and collaborations.
Provide assistance to hearing follow up.
Provide customer service to doctor parents and external partner regarding newborn screening results.
Provide assistance to newborn screening education event at hospitals as needed.
Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
Knowledge of:
- Medical terminology and genetics
- Database management and record keeping.
- Laboratory or audiological testing procedurestest results and implications.
- Alternatives/options to standard office operating procedures.
- Knowledge of case management and medical terminology related to newborn screening
- Follow up protocols and procedures for metabolic disorders endocrine disorders hemoglobin disorders critical congenital heart defect screening SCID screening SMA XALD Pompe and MPS1 and hearing differences.
- Performance Management (PM) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Lean methodologies.
Skills in:
- Written and verbal communications.
- Organization and prioritization.
- Analysis and interpretation of test results.
- Interactions with medical professionals healthcare institutions and the general public including active listening and sensitivity to the needs of the other person.
- Computer operation.
Ability to:
- Learn ADHS Newborn Screening Program objectives standards follow-up protocols and procedures.
- Make informed decisions work effectively with people under difficult or stressful situations.
- Gather information effectively via the phone or email in a positive manner and accurately document information.
- Work in a team environment required.

Bachelors degree in a health related field required (social work psychology Healthcare Science sociology public health Nursing Speech and Hearing). Preference given to candidates with Social Services/healthcare related case management experience.
Driver license.
