Job Description
Job Title:Senior Manager PHE Design
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager for PHE Design to lead oversee and manage all aspects of PHE & Fire Protection design for all projects in BIAL. The candidate shall be responsible for ensuring high quality deliverables adherence to technical standards and fostering collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead mentor and manage a team of engineers and designers.
- Manage project schedules to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Foster a culture of innovation collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Technical Design & Oversight
- Develop and review detailed engineering designs for plumbing (water supply drainage sewage treatment) and fire protection systems (sprinklers hydrants fire alarm coordination).
- Ensure all systems comply with local building codes NFPA standards NBC and international regulations such as IPC UPC etc.
- Conduct hydraulic calculations pipe sizing pump selection and equipment specifications.
- Evaluate and integrate sustainable water management practices (rainwater harvesting greywater reuse etc.).
- Sound knowledge of various treatment methods for Sewage & Water.
- Project Management:
- Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to define project scopes budgets and timelines.
- Monitor project progress and address any technical or resource-related challenges.
- Ensure projects meet client expectations and regulatory compliance.
- Innovation and Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to integrate new technologies tools or methodologies into the design process.
- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs without compromising quality.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a primary technical contact for all internal stakeholders and design consultants.
- Present technical solutions and progress updates to clients and leadership teams.
- Collaborate with procurement and vendors to select and validate components and materials.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all designs meet safety and environmental standards.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks associated with projects.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
- 15 years of experience in PHE & Fire Protection design with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Extensive experience in high-rise buildings commercial industrial or mixed-use developments.
- Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD Revit MEP BIM360 Pipe Flow SprinkCAD etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of codes and standards (NFPA NBC IPC IS codes ASHRAE etc.).
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g. NEC IEC IEEE).
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- On-time project delivery rates.
- Design accuracy and adherence to standards.
- Team performance and engagement metrics.
- Client satisfaction scores.
- Cost savings achieved through innovation and process improvements.
