Job Description
Basic Function
The Wolters Kluwer Digital Experience Group (DXG) creates products and solutions for Wolters Kluwer businesses to serve professionals in the Legal Tax Heath Finance and Compliance sectors. This wide and growing array of solutions supports business units in building and expanding their online product portfolios. The Digital Experience Group provides global leverage of industry and customer insight driving technology capabilities for local product innovation. We have an open position for a Senior Software Engineer in the Digital Experience Group. This job provides a highly motivated candidate an opportunity to write code to build the foundation of our health analytics platform responsible for servicing millions of API calls per day. This effort has direct impact on the quality of an actual live project used by healthcare facilities throughout the U.S.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze business requirements and user stories and epics design software solutions and develop system architectures to meet those requirements.
Communicate technical solutions to business and technical staff.
Manage closure of requirements issues and defects and project backlogs.
Responsible for contributing to the best practices and process for the SDLC including conducting peer-code reviews and design reviews.
Work with project lead on prioritization scope definition cost & effort estimations risk / issue resolutions for respective components/projects.
Evaluate recommend and implement new technologies for software development. Stay abreast of current trends and technologies and introduce them into the Digital Experience Group development process.
Technical Skills:
Minimum 5 years of experience of professional software development experience
Minimum 5 years of experience required: C# .NET Core Web APIs
Node JS Experience is highly preferred
Experience with a wide range of cloud database technologies i.e. AURORA (PostgreSQL MySQL) NoSQL (Dynamo DB) Amazon Relation Database Services (RDS) and/or Microsoft Azure SQL Database
Experience with building and scaling distributed highly available systems
Experience with cloud services on AWS or Azure (EKS / Aurora DB / S3 / SQS / EC2 / IAM / Lambda) Experience with writing REST APIs. (GraphQL experience is a plus)
Experience creating unit tests and either Test Driven or Behavior Driven development processes
Thorough understanding of software development processes and procedures. Experience with data streams event driven development Kafka reactive programming is plus
Bonus points if you can show us a project you worked on in Github
