Job Description

NASC Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented engineering project leader to lead initiative of developing and delivering next generation world-class sortation and transportation systems. This position will have an impact on both design and process design engineering for the NASC.

Were looking to add a handful of high-impact engineers to our team. In this role you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high-quality cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. Your projects may include green-fields brown-fields and retrofits including highly automated fulfillment centers cross-dock facilities and transportation centers. Your projects will be a variety of template-based and designed-from-scratch along with ownership of Process Designs end to end complimenting each Design.

You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact high visibility projects; you will grow.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the sortation and transportation network through equipment specification material flow process design site layout and intellectual property considerations.
- Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing negotiating and communicating with internal and external business partners contractors and vendors.
- Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects
- Effective communication skills ability to execute the vision detailed roadmap and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.

A day in the life
1. End to end ownership of automation pilots.
2. Design pilot test plans success criteria and SOPs. Coordinate installation commissioning and performance monitoring of new automation solutions.
3. Interface with 3P vendors for hardware development integration and field support.
4. Partner with Ops RME WHS and Business Corp teams to align pilot execution and scale readiness.
5. Collaborate with Legal and BD to ensure contracts protect Amazons IP interests.
6. Participate in DFMEA reviews and safety risk mitigation planning.
7. Build scaling strategy for the automation products based on the performance results.

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Electrical Mechatronics or Robotics Engineering
- 5 years of experience in the design and development of complex mechanical products or industrial equipment
- Proven background in robotics or systems engineering with a focus on hardware development
- Hands-on experience with machine design systems architecture and integration within warehouse automation or similar industrial environments
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software including advanced assemblies part design and configuration management best practices
- Demonstrated experience in building testing and deploying robotic or automated systems in production environments.
- Experience in developing functional specifications design verification plans and test procedures

- Masters degree in electrical engineering computer engineering or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
