    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. High School Diploma or equivalent
    2. Working knowledge of computer word-processing and Microsoft Office applications and Google.
    3. One year experience in related area performing secretarial or general office work in an office with considerable public contact or an equivalent combination of experience education and/or training that demonstrates the desired knowledge skills and abilities
    4. Knowledge skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies
    5. Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    1. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
    2. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
    3. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
    4. Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
    5. Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills
    6. Ability to operate computer equipment for email communications word processing data management and other assigned tasks as related to the position.
    7. Ability to operate standard office equipment and database software programs.
    8. Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
    9. Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff students parents and community members.
    10. Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
    11. Ability to understand and maintain students and parents rights to confidentiality and not violate those rights; nor discuss students in inappropriate places or with anyone not in direct contact with such individual students.
    12. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
    13. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies including mandatory reporting procedures.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Assist the Assistant Principal in daily office operations aligned with procedures.
    2. Complete office and secretarial duties including greeting visitors answering telephones and inquiries and providing general information relevant to the site. Explain applicable school programs and procedures.
    3. Maintain calendar and schedule for the Assistant Principal; arrange appointments conferences and interviews. Prepare reports and other resources as requested.
    4. Process incoming correspondence and mail compose correspondence independently and type material from rough drafts.
    5. Maintain confidential records and files.
    6. Obtain and organize pertinent data in usable form as needed.
    7. Perform data entry for attendance records student tracking and contact parents/guardians as requested.
    8. Compile attendance information for district state and federal organizations as requested.
    9. Handle student referrals as applicable.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to reach with hands and arms sit stand walk stoop and bend as necessary. The employee maylift carry push pull or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens and use the telephone.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Indoor office environment. This position regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have substantial contact with parents students staff and the public.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
    The Secretary reports to the Principal/Site Administrator. The Secretary will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
    INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN: Starting at $14.85 per hour
    WORK YEAR: 12 Months/8 hours
