Job Title: School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)Work Settings:Elementary SchoolsMiddle SchoolsHigh SchoolsLocation: San Diego County CAPrimary Responsibilities:Assessment & Diagnosis:Evaluate students for speech language communication and swallowing standardized tools and observational techniques to assess & Therapy:Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Provide direct therapy services for articulation fluency voice receptive/expressive language and social therapy to developmental and educational :Work closely with teachers special educators psychologists and in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team & Compliance:Maintain accurate records of evaluations therapy sessions and student compliance with IDEA Section 504 and California state education & Advocacy:Educate staff and families on communication disorders and for students communication needs within the school -Specific Focus:Elementary School:Emphasis on early intervention phonological awareness and foundational language for literacy development and classroom School:Focus on language for learning social communication and executive pragmatic language and curriculum-based language School:Support transition planning vocational communication skills and academic on independence and self-advocacy in :Masters degree in Speech-Language PathologyMust hold a valid California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential or be eligible and willing to obtain it by July or AugustCredentialing assistance available for the right candidateExperience in school settings is a plus
