Job Description
Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to aid physicians in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states. Takes on lead role in the assigned laboratory area of clinical specialty.
Reports to: Laboratory Director
Bachelors degree in a laboratory chemical biological or physical science - Required
Graduation from NAACLS-Accredited Program - Preferred
Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Licenses:
Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist Certification (ASCP or AMT) or State of Tennessee Medical Technologist Generalist - Required
One (1) years experience in a clinical laboratory as a technologist hospital environment - Required
One (1) year experience in lead tech or management/supervisor position - Preferred
