Job Description
VHIR offers a vacant position for a post-doctoral researcher with immunological background for the Infection and Immunocompromised Pediatric Patient Research Group and related to the UNDINE H2021 grant.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Degree in Biosciences (Biology Biomedicine Biotechnology Biochemistry Human Biology Genetics etc.)
- Masters degree in Biosciences (Biosciences Biomedicine Immunology Genetics Biochemistry etc.)
- PhD related to Biosciences (Biosciences Biomedicine Immunology Genetics Biochemistry etc.).
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Proven experience in advanced flow cytometry panel design equipment calibration
- Experience in manual and semi-automated western blotting
- Experience in ELISA techniques for determination of autoantibodies
- Experience in Luminex multiplex assays
- Experience in cell culture and isolation. Previous experience with the group or similar groups
- Ability to answer scientific questions through experimental design. Experience in managing and coordinating a research laboratory.
- Publications in scientific journals certifying the expertise.
Desired:
- Experience in laboratory tests related to COVID-19
- Experience in diagnosis and/or genetic analysis of primary immunodeficiencies
- Management of anonymized patient databases
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Performance of immunological studies (wet-lab).
- Participation/assistance in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations.
- Supervision of other personnel in the laboratory to coordinate research efforts for increased efficiency; participate in training of fellows residents and students as needed.
- Literature search of pertinent scientific publications.
- Assistance in ordering and procurement of supplies and equipment and with general maintenance of laboratory.
- Updating of the patient databases.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week
- Starting date: immediate
- Gross annual salary: 32.000 35.000 euros. Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
