Job Description
Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Clinical Laboratory
Location: Kenedy TX
Shift: Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Schedule: Alternating Weeks
- Week 1: Thursday - Saturday
- Week 2: Thursday Friday and Sunday
- Duration: 13 Weeks (initial term)
Hourly Rate: Starting at $24/hour (higher with experience)
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join a night shift team in a clinical laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will be experienced dependable and able to function effectively with minimal supervision. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is well-rounded across all areas of the lab and enjoys working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests and procedures with accuracy and timeliness.
- Analyze patient specimens across a variety of testing areas.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and quality control procedures.
- Accurately document and report test results using the CPSI EMR system.
- Support clinical staff by providing timely reliable diagnostic information.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years clinical laboratory experience (3-5 years preferred).
- Valid Texas MLT license required.
- Certification by one of the following:
- ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology)
- AMT (American Medical Technologists)
- NCA (National Credentialing Agency)
- Or equivalent nationally recognized certifying body
- Strong multitasking organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work night shifts and rotating weekend schedules.
- Professionalism and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
