The Nurse plays a key role in our Adult Day Training (ADT) Program and Recreation Services providing compassionate person-centered medical care and promoting the health safety and well-being of all participants.
This part time position (3 days per week 6-7 hours per day) has the following major responsibilities:
Provide clinical and medical services to participants in the ADT and Recreation Programs
Administer medications and document treatment in accordance with state and APD guidelines
Lead health related training for staff and clients; supervise and support staff trained in medication administration
Collaborate with families and staff and other healthcare providers to ensure consistent communication and care
Responsible for the safe storage and maintenance of medical records; ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and recommend improvements
When not performing nursing duties actively engage with clients as a member of the ADT team
Qualifications:
Current RN or LPN with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar setting
Minimum of 1 year experience working with individuals with autism and related developmental disabilities across the age spectrum
Certified in CPR and BLS
Training in advanced seizure management
Demonstrated ability to support participants directly
Work Environment:
Potential exposure to accidents illness or injury
Interact indoors or outside - in office or program environments across campus
Subject to frequent interruptions and changing priorities
May require flexible scheduling
