Job Description

  • Employment Type: Full Time Fixed term until mid-December 2025

  • Remuneration: $110K to $119K (depending on experience) 17% superannuation

  • Location: Kensington UNSW Campus (hybrid)

Why Your Role Matters

The Health Promotions Senior Project Officer will form an integral part of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education & Student Experience Wellbeing Pillar Health Promotion team in the delivery of Mental Health focussed programs aligned with UNSWs Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

This involves developing delivering and evaluating evidence-informed health programs that are culturally sensitive and align to the overall UNSW Health Service strategy. In particular the role will focus on the UNSW International Student cohort and support students and their peers to make informed and healthy choices. Adopting a health promotions approach this role will work collaboratively using co-design principles to make the university a healthier place. In support of the delivery of initiatives and programs this role will recruit manage and oversee student volunteers and peer groups.

This role will report to the Health Promotions Team Lead. This a replacement position fixed-term contract until the end of December 2025 (no possibility of extension at this point).

More about the role

  • Develop deliver and evaluate evidence-informed health programs and activities for UNSW students in alignment with key objectives

  • Lead the development and delivery of large-scale health promotion events Expertly contribute to the development of and oversee the day-to-day operational aspects of the Mental Health Network

  • Support the delivery of and facilitate Mental Health literacy trainings for staff and students

  • Participate in and contribute to online resource development for UNSW Health and other health promotion activities focusing on UNSW students

  • Develop and deliver progress reports proposals required documentation and presentations

  • Proactively undertake needs analysis and monitor trends to identify health priorities for international students and other vulnerable student populations.

  • Liaise closely with key internal stakeholders including relevant portfolio staff UNSW Student Communications and Arc as well as external stakeholders to provide an integrated approach to health promotions and prevention activities

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who is passionate about student wellbeing who is aligned with UNSWs vision and ideally comes with:

  • Previous experience in Mental Health Public Health or Health Promotion

  • Demonstrated high level experience in the development delivery and evaluation of successful mental health or health promotion programs to culturally diverse people

  • Relevant program or project coordination experience with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and multiple priorities

  • Experience delivering and facilitating trainings

  • Demonstrated experience managing large events that engage young people

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills

  • Previous experience coaching or supervising staff would be ideal

  • A valid Work with Children Check

Whilst this is a not a remote role there is flexibility to work from home. You will be required to be in the office for events/trainings/workshops etc.
