The Team
Across our work in Science Education and within our communities we pair technology with grantmaking impact investing and collaboration to help accelerate the pace of progress toward our mission. Our Operations organization provides the support needed to push this work forward.
Operations consists of our Brand & Communications Central Tech Finance People Real Estate/Workplace/Events/Facilities/Security (REWFS) Strategy & Operations and Ventures teams. These teams provide the essential operations services and strategies needed to support CZIs progress toward achieving its mission to build a better future for everyone.
The Opportunity
As a Workplace Manager you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless and positive workplace environment. The role is a people management position responsible for the development strategy budget and overall success of all workplace programs areas. The individual in this role will lead a team to create and maintain an efficient engaging and positive onsite experience implementing industry best practices to anticipate problems and proactively support the team to find solutions.
Were looking for an excellent team player who will closely collaborate with REWFS (Real Estate Events Workplace Facilities Security) colleagues and cross-functional partners to ensure operational excellence in all services programs and amenities provided at our Redwood City office(s). Applicants must have strong communication skills be able to work independently and solve problems creatively.
What Youll Do
- Strategize and develop various workplace programs to enhance employee experience and engagement (i.e. lunch program reception transportation mail fitness & wellness) adapting to organizational needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Oversee day-to-day workplace operations that align with organizational goals and ensure a welcoming and functional work environment.
- Lead mentor and manage a team of workplace leads and coordinators fostering a collaborative and results-driven team.
- Manage the development of policies tools and systems across program areas.
- Provide site-specific insights to influence overall REWFS strategy and drive improvements.
- Manage relationships with service providers resource allocation and annual budget.
What Youll Bring
- Experience as a workplace people manager
- Experience with corporate food and beverage operations
- Responsible and conscientious decision-maker with integrity excellent judgment and respect for confidentiality and ethics
- Patience flexibility and adaptability: the ability to react positively and quickly to last-minute changes in logistics or needs; comfort with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced start-up culture
- Experience with GSuite JIRA and Salesforce is a plus; able to navigate or learn other platforms as needed
- Experience with vendor management people management and/or contract negotiation/execution preferred
Compensation
The Redwood City CA base pay range for this role is $138000 - $172000 - $207000. New hires are typically hired into the lower portion of the range enabling employee growth in the range over time. Actual placement in range is based on job-related skills and experience as evaluated throughout the interview process.
