DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As the Section Chief of the Sampling Monitoring and Abandoned Mine Drainage (AMD) Planning Section you will have a crucial role in the Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation. Your responsibilities will include managing a team of professionals reviewing and identifying abandoned mine drainage sites and developing projects for watershed restoration. Your expertise will be essential in planning and coordinating projects to address AMD and other environmental concerns in the western region of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Your team will also be responsible for conducting assessments evaluation and monitoring of abandoned mine sites and implementing methods for abatement and treatment of AMD. Additionally you will oversee the tracking and coordination of AMD grants and ensure that all activities comply with environmental regulations. Your leadership and expertise will be vital in addressing the impact of abandoned mines and restoring the health of our watersheds.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday - Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Ebensburg.
- Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelors degree in the biological physical or environmental sciences engineering or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; and five years of professional environmental protection experience;or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid drivers license.
- You must be in possession of a valid Professional Engineer license or a valid Professional Geologist license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers Land Surveyors and Geologists.
