This opportunity is:

Location: Memphis TN 38134

Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 8 am- 4:30 pm

Full-time: Benefit Eligible

In this role you will:

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process through examining prepared slides with the microscope to detect evidence of abnormalities
• Report negative Pap Test cases and refers abnormal cases to the pathologists for review
• May read Non-GYN specimens and report findings to the pathologists for final diagnosis
• Document for each 24-hour period the total number of slides examined or reviewed in the laboratory or for any other employer.
• Perform embedding and microtomy.
• Perform automated IHC/ISH and special staining employing different staining platforms (Ventana Leica etc.).
• Test and validate new antibodies.
• Analyze and troubleshoot equipment related issues.
• Maintain quality control and assurance records.
• Performs and documents preventative maintenance.
• Document the number of hours spent examining slides in each 24-hour period.
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
• Champion safety compliance and quality control

All you need is:

• CT Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
• Tennessee Licensing
• HT or HTL Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
• Strong critical thinking complex problem-solving judgment and decision-making skills.
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment including but not limited to: telephones computers automated instruments microscopes microtomes and audible alarms
