Electric Power Engineers Inc. (EPE) is seeking a Software Developer to be part of a dynamic and highly technical team. In this role you will work alongside senior developers and engineers to help develop maintain and deploy cutting-edge cloud-based software products that serve the energy industry. You will have opportunities to work with the latest technologies and contribute to a growing portfolio of products that are helping shape the future of power systems. As a Software Developer at EPE you will gain invaluable experience and mentorship to develop your technical and professional skills while contributing meaningfully to the success of the team.

Howyou can make an impact:

  • Collaborate with the software team to design develop test and deploy cloud-based software solutions for the energy sector.
  • Assist in maintaining and enhancing existing applications ensuring scalability performance and security.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering coding testing and deployment.
  • Work with cutting-edge technologies like Python React Typescript Java Kotlin Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Contribute to code reviews bug fixes and performance tuning to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering data science and business teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of products.
  • Continuously learn new technologies and approaches to software development.

Qualifications

Bring your passion heres whats needed:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience or Masters degree in Computer Science
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Python Java Kotlin Typescript.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g. Git).
  • Strong understanding of software development principles algorithms and data structures.
  • A passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience with front-end frameworks (e.g. React).
  • Knowledge of cloud-based solutions specifically AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity withArcGIS and geospatial data
  • Exposure to analytics or engineering software in the energy sector is a plus.
