Job Description
Summary:
Our client is looking for a Water Treatment Department Manager to lead the Water Treatment Engineering Resource Group based in Williamsville NY. This leadership role involves managing engineering teams coordinating projects and serving as a technical lead on medium to large-scale water treatment and storage projects.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor to established water clients and support sales efforts to secure new projects
- Diagnose analyze and implement treatment process improvements
- Optimize treatment plant operations including pretreatment filtration chemical disinfection residuals management energy systems and water storage
- Conduct asset evaluations and contribute to long-term capital planning
- Perform hydraulic modeling for treatment and storage systems
- Provide water expertise to supplement utility staff during critical situations
- Represent the Water Group to corporate management
- Lead and manage a team of 5-10 engineers overseeing daily activities mentoring and development
- Coordinate project scheduling team commitments utilization technical training and quality control
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in water treatment engineering
- Proficient with MS Office and familiar with drafting software such as CAD or Revit
- Valid drivers license and availability to travel to job sites and client meetings
- Willingness to travel overnight occasionally
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated leadership management and mentoring experience
Education/Certification Qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree in Civil Chemical or Environmental Engineering or related field required
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license required
