About The Rock Academy

The Rock Academy is a private Christian school ministry of The Rock Church serving students from preschool through 12th grade. Our mission is to partner with families to raise up the next generation of Christ-centered leaders through excellence in education a biblical worldview and a nurturing Spirit-filled environment. Position Summary

The Early Education Center (EEC) Director is a spiritually mature visionary and joyful leader who oversees the daily operations and strategic growth of the preschool and early learning programs (infantPre-K). At the heart of this role is a warm approachable spirit and a servants heart that reflects the joy of the Lord in every interaction-with children families and staff alike. The Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with licensing standards overseeing curriculum mentoring staff and cultivating a Christ-centered nurturing environment.

This individual serves not only as an administrator but as a shepherd-offering leadership that is professional relational and deeply rooted in biblical truth.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Management

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the early childhood education program in alignment with the mission of The Rock Academy and The Rock Church.
  • Ensure compliance with California State Licensing requirements (Title 22) and accreditation standards (e.g. ACSI WASC).
  • Develop and manage the ECE budget enrollment strategy and staffing plans.

Spiritual Leadership

  • Model a Christ-like attitude of joy grace and encouragement in all areas of leadership.
  • Integrate biblical values and prayer into the culture and curriculum of the classroom.
  • Work in collaboration with the church and school to support the spiritual formation of children and families.

Curriculum & Instruction

  • Develop implement and evaluate a biblically integrated developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Ensure the program supports cognitive emotional physical and spiritual development.
  • Promote learning environments that are creative engaging and safe.

Staff Supervision & Development

  • Hire mentor and encourage ECE teachers and support staff fostering unity and joy in the workplace.
  • Provide ongoing professional development and spiritual encouragement.
  • Maintain high standards for instructional quality and staff conduct.

Family & Community Engagement

  • Build trusting and meaningful relationships with families offering support warmth and open communication.
  • Organize family events parent education nights and ministry opportunities that connect home and school.
  • Spiritual:
  • Has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
  • Regularly attend Rock church or church of like faith.
  • Actively involved in church activities.
  • Must believe that the Bible is Gods Word and the standard for faith and daily living.
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude speech and actions that represents Jesus.
  • Demonstrate Christ-centered behavior at all times by treating people with dignity respect compassion and integrity.
  • Utilize the principles of Matthew 18 and Ephesians 4:15 to resolve differences of opinions with others.

NON-NEGOTIABLES:

  • Comply and implement Title 22 state licensing regulations.
  • Constant supervision of children at all times.
  • Compliance with Title 22 teacher/child ratios at all times.
  • Ensuring the health and safety of the children at all times.
  • Respect and follow guidelines and leadership of administration.
  • Serve as a welcoming liaison between the ECE program The Rock Church and the broader school community.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A vibrant and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ reflecting the fruits of the Spirit especially joy kindness and gentleness.
  • Bachelors or associate degree in early childhood education and 5 plus years experience with working the field of Child Development or a related field.
  • Meets or exceeds California Director qualifications per Community Care Licensing regulations.
  • 35 years of experience in early childhood education with at least 2 years in a supervisory or director/leadership role.
  • A warm approachable demeanor with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of early childhood development licensing regulations and best practices in Christian education.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in Early Childhood Education Educational Leadership or a related field.
  • Experience working in or leading a faith-based preschool.
  • Familiarity with ACSI accreditation and/or play-based learning frameworks such as Montessori or Reggio Emilia.
