Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Performs advanced-level duties in the safe and efficient operation of bulk cargo handling at the Sulphur LA Bulk Terminal #1 facility within Lake Charles Harbor & Terminal District (Port of Lake Charles). Duties include loading and unloading commodities/bulk cargo from rail cars trucks ships barges or storage facilities operating mobile equipment heavy machinery and providing truck escorts.
Performance of these duties requires manual physical labor and work outdoors and around the waterfront.
Position-Specific Details:NOTE REGARDING THE ADVERTISED PAY:
This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as a Bulk Terminal Specialist 1-2-3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.
