Location: Washington DC
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Contract Specialist to support the acquisition and procurement functions for our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing pre-award and post-award contracting activities in accordance with applicable laws regulations and policies.
Develop solicit evaluate negotiate and administer complex contracts for goods and services.
Conduct market research and cost/price analysis to support acquisition strategy.
Prepare and issue Request for Proposals (RFPs) Invitations for Bid (IFBs) and other solicitation documents.
Evaluate contractor proposals and assist in source selection activities.
Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific acquisition policies.
Prepare and execute contract modifications terminations and close-outs.
Provide guidance and technical assistance to program offices and stakeholders.
Maintain accurate and complete contract files and documentation.
Interface with legal finance and technical staff throughout the procurement lifecycle.
Education: Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Coursework: Completion of at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following disciplines:
Accounting
Business
Finance
Law
Contracts
Purchasing
Economics
Industrial Management
Marketing
Quantitative Methods
Organization and Management
Experience: Insert experience requirements e.g. 1-3 years in procurement/contracting preferred.
Certifications: Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) desired but not required.
Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific procurement regulations.
Strong analytical negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in contract writing systems and procurement software (e.g. PRISM FPDS-NG).
Ability to manage multiple tasks prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
Experience working in a government or federal contracting environment.
