Job Description
THE POSITION
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources at Shawnee State Park offers an exceptional opportunity for those who revel in outdoor activities and seek a hands-on role. As a Park Maintenance Worker you will perform semi-skilled work alone assist a skilled trades worker or function as lead worker for a small crew of manual workers performing routine tasks. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position you will utilize various construction groundskeeping and maintenance tools often relying on skills developed through hands-on experience. Your responsibilities will include performing minor repairs and conducting routine groundskeeping and custodial tasks with a significant degree of independence. Additionally you will support skilled maintenance personnel in repairing buildings and facilities employing tools from carpentry electrical plumbing and other trades.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- This is a seasonal full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2026.
- Shift hours and days vary due to operational need with a 30-minute lunch
- Weekends holidays and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
