Job Description

Overview

Knowledge Services is seeking a Hydraulic & Hydrologic Engineer for a full-time/direct hire role in Nashville TN. This role will work onsite in Nashville in support of their team.

Responsibilities

Hydraulic & Hydrologic Engineer Essential Duties:

Opportunity to grow develop and manage a hydraulic and hydrologic team.

Support large scale federal projects that impact communities and improve the nation.
Provide watershed modeling river hydraulics modeling dam safety hydraulic design flood mitigation studies and designs FEMA hydraulic modeling and coordination stormwater systems planning and design water resources modeling water quality and sustainability for our Water Resources Department located in Nashville TN.
Apply broad knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering principles to large scale federal projects for NRCS or US Army Corps of Engineers to smaller local projects for states or municipalities.

Be a part of multidisciplinary teams while working on federal water resources projects such as watershed protection flood prevention water quality water supply dam safety assessments and planning studies.

Municipal projects could include Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans BMPs erosion control plans Bridge Hydraulics modeling FEMA No-Rise Certifications Scour Analyses 404 permits and other civil infrastructure design.

Qualifications

Hydraulic & Hydrologic Engineer Requirements:

Bachelors degree in civil environmental or water resources engineering
Must be a license Professional Engineer PE or a FE with the ability to obtain a PE within 2 years of start date
Must possess at least 2 - 6 years of civil engineering experience water resource engineering preferred
Possess hands on experience with some combination of the following tools: HEC-RAS HEC-HMS PeakFQ ArcGIS SITES HY-8 QGIS CAD SWMM (EPA PC etc.) Microsoft Outlook Word PowerPoint and Excel
Valid Driver License and reliable transportation to and from work.

Must be able to travel a few times per quarterto client locations and/or conference events
