Laborer

Summary: Under immediate supervision performs both routine and heavy physical work in construction maintenance and cleaning and provides assistance to skilled trades and craft workers pertaining to their designated trade for commercial jobsites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs all aspects of manual labor including but not limited to:

• Use hand tools and power tools.
• Operate and maintain electric or battery operated drills
• Operate laser guidance equipment torches and small mechanical hoists/ lift
• Operate air compressor pneumatic air tools including but not limited to jack hammers tampers and concrete saws
• Climb stairs and ladders
• Perform demolition
• Load unload and distribute construction materials
• Sweep and clean jobsites
• Dig trenches with shovels
• Use of power tools such as chop saw or sawzall.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add subtract multiply and divide.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Certificates Licenses Registrations

Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle is essential as daily field work changes frequently.

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and use a tape measure is helpful.
