DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position is a professional role in civil engineering designated as Assistant Regional Engineer. The core duties involve delivering engineering services and expert consultation to personnel in regional parks and forestry particularly in the planning and execution of maintenance and construction projects. This role encompasses the review execution and oversight of intricate civil and structural engineering initiatives which may include the renovation or rehabilitation of various infrastructures such as bridges buildings roads dams marinas retaining walls storage tanks and water and wastewater treatment facilities as well as recreational areas like pools campgrounds and bike trails each varying in complexity.
The Regional Engineer is responsible for delegating tasks to ensure project completion while the Staff Engineer typically manages multiple projects simultaneously often working autonomously but occasionally providing support to the Regional Engineer. The Regional Engineer outlines specific components of the work for the Staff Engineer offering a detailed description of the scope and objectives along with general guidance and recommendations. All completed work is subject to review by the Regional Engineer to confirm compliance with the Bureaus standards and additional assistance is available from the Regional Engineer as needed.Interested in learning more Additional details regarding this position can be found in theposition description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday - Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days per pay period with management approval. In order to telework you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Schellsburg.
- Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers Land Surveyors and Geologists;or
- Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associates degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline;or
- Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and a bachelors degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid drivers license.
