Are you passionate about enhancing healthcare and making a difference in the community The Ontario Laboratory Medicine Program (OLMP) is looking for a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our Strategic Planning & Program Development team. As a Senior Specialist you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing innovative laboratory medicine programs that improve patient care and health outcomes.
Here is what you will be doing:
Collaborate and Lead:Work closely with colleagues external partners and stakeholders to support program priorities and new initiatives.
Research and Analyze:Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses literature reviews and jurisdictional scans to inform policy and program development.
Communicate Effectively:Develop and present briefing notes reports executive summaries and presentations for key stakeholders.
Manage Projects:Plan and manage multiple projects concurrently ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
Innovate and Improve:Identify and implement process improvements to enhance program effectiveness.
Engage with Experts:Work closely with laboratory medicine experts across over 50 established and independent hospital and community laboratories to develop and implement laboratory program initiatives across a provincially integrated laboratory network
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in a related discipline (Health Science Health Administration Business Administration Public Health) or recognized equivalent is required; Masters degree is an asset
3 years of related experience working within the health care sector is required
An understanding of Ontarios healthcare system; familiarity with laboratory medicine is a strong asset
Experience in the health care system and more specifically with government agencies LHINs and/or public health agencies is preferred
Expertise and experience in qualitative analysis literature searches policy analysis and business strategy and the ability to translate information into a summaries briefs or business cases
Experience engaging and working directly with health system stakeholders and health service providers; engaging patients caregivers First Nations Inuit Metis urban Indigenous and special populations is an asset
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of health policy health research and social determinants of health and population health
Strong knowledge and experience conducting literature reviews and environmental scans
Experience in synthesizing clear and concise recommendations based on a large and complex body of evidence
Excellent organizational skills; responsible and highly motivated; must be able to manage multiple tasks prioritize and effectively anticipate and respond to issues as they arise
Detail-oriented and process-driven with a demonstrated ability to produce high quality work consistently and effectively
Excellent skills in explaining complex concepts in a manner which is simple and easy to understand
Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically
Proven ability to work in a collaborative team environment as well as independently and interact comfortably with all levels of organization and personnel
Strong ability to deal with ambiguity and flexibility to pivot to adapt to changing demands
Proven ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders to establish trust credibility and respect
Knowledge of best practices related to inclusion and health equity are considered an asset
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook PowerPoint Excel and Word; experience with Project an asset
