Shifts are 11:30am - 7pm (can be a little flexible if needed) - 40 hours per week. We are looking for someone to workTuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday.
The House person maintains designated areas in a clean and sanitary condition. This personspresence in resident living areas provides residents with reassurance that a caring support network is present at Bayview.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
KEEPING COMMUNITY CLEAN: looks for dirt dust grease marks finger prints litter cobwebs food crumbs spills stains mildew and various kinds of messes which can be cleaned during ones work shift; encourages other staff as well as residents to look for and report dirt and messes so that they can be cleaned promptly; thanks other staff and residents for reporting dirt and messes.
CLEANING AND SANITIZING: cleans and sanitizes walls air vents handrails grab bars curtains windows mirrors counter tops sinks tables shelves desks bathroom and kitchen appliances special equipment floors stairs doors elevators and other areas according to Bayview policies procedures and schedules; replaces dirty bed linens with clean bed linens per Bayview policies and procedures.
TIDYING UP: places items in neat arrangements in appropriate places to provide an orderly appearance (e.g. sets scattered magazines in a stack on a shelf takes misplaced coffee cups to the kitchen for washing returns chairs from disorganized arrangements to orderly arrangements); re-supplies paper towels soap and toilet paper in bathrooms and at sinks; empties garbage containers.
PROMOTING CONTINUAL CLEANING: promotes continual cleaning by such means as having garbage cans available in areas where garbage may be produced; keeps cleaning supplies easily accessible to staff who are working when housekeepers may not be available; recommends ways to prevent areas from becoming dirty or messy without undue restriction on residents or childrens quality of life.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE AND MANNERS: maintains a clean personal appearance; keeps supplies and equipment clean and orderly; greets residents and children in a cheerful and respectful manner; responds promptly and courteously to requests for cleaning; compliments other staff for housekeeping and laundry work that is done well.
RESIDENTS RIGHTS AND PREFERNCES: respects residents right to refuse housekeeping services and informs supervisor of such instances; respects residents preferences to the extent safe and feasible in terms of how and when housekeeping services are provided and informs supervisor of resident requests which vary significantly from common practice or are not honored due to safety or feasibility concerns.
TRAINING: is receptive to training about new cleaning procedures and products; participates in on-going training regarding housekeeping duties in all areas of Bayview; participates in training regarding laundry services.
SECURITY MANAGEMENT: is constantly alert to irregularities at Bayview which may represent security risks including theft vandalism armed intrusion loitering menacing behavior fire and power outages; performs security rounds; responds to smoke alarms; notifies appropriate authorities when security risks are identified; assists in maintaining a system of security including locks and keys.
BAYVIEW COMMUNITY: contributes through words and actions to the development of a cohesive ethical congenial and multicultural workforce; supports Bayviews commitment to providing high quality services in an enriching cost-effective spiritual caring and dignified social environment.
OTHER: complies with applicable laws and regulations including the state criminal background check; attends mandatory meetings and inservice training programs; adheres to Bayview policies and procedures; respects the confidentiality of information relating to residents children families staff and sensitive business information; cooperates with annual tuberculosis testing and/or symptom screening; responds appropriately to emergency situations using knowledge and skills to protect the well-being of ones self and others; performs other duties as assigned.
