POSITION: Middle School Ag Teacher
As an Agricultural Teacher youll play a pivotal role in shaping students understanding of agriculture and its various components.
Harrisburg operates on a 4-day school week M-TH. Work days and hours are flexible for this position so the work times and days can be personalized.
COMPENSATION: $44038.71- $84954.65
Placement on the salary schedule will be competitive and commensurate with education
experience and work schedule. District policy GCBA will be implemented.

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Oregon Teachers License with appropriate endorsement level required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Teaching: Design and deliver engaging agricultural science lessons aligned to Oregon State Standards and STEM principles.
Curriculum Development: Youll develop curriculum materials lesson plans and assessments that align with state standards and educational objectives. This involves researching current trends and best practices in agricultural education to ensure content relevance and effectiveness.
Classroom Management: Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning is essential. Youll implement effective classroom management strategies to foster student engagement participation and respect for one another.
Hands-on Learning: Given the practical nature of agricultural education youll organize and supervise hands-on activities laboratory experiments and walking field trips to provide students with real-world experiences and reinforce theoretical concepts.
Individualized Instruction: Recognizing the diverse learning styles and abilities of students youll provide individualized support and enrichment opportunities to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed.
Collaboration: Youll collaborate with other teachers administrators and community stakeholders to integrate agricultural education across disciplines and promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
Professional Development: Continuing education and professional growth are essential aspects of your role. Youll participate in professional development activities workshops and conferences to stay updated on advancements in agricultural education and teaching methodologies.
Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with the local agricultural community industry professionals and stakeholders. This may involve organizing guest speakers industry visits and partnerships to enhance students exposure to career opportunities in agriculture.
Administrative Duties: Completing administrative tasks such as grading attendance records and reporting student progress to parents and administrators is a fundamental aspect of your role.
