Job Description

The North American Transportation Services (NATS) team at Amazon is comprised of high-powered dynamic teams that are shaping network planning and execution through the development and application of innovative transportation and delivery management concepts.
NATS Transportation Planning team is looking for a customer-focused detail-oriented experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to provide recommendations on how to improve customer delivery performance leveraging a toolkit of numerical methods and modeling. As a BIE you will be responsible for defining and executing reports to drive operational excellence exceed our customers expectations and achieve performance goals. In partnership with Program Managers BIEs will expose gaps in our supply chain that leave us vulnerable to customer facing defects.
Additionally you will provide insights into operational issues analyze the root cause and provide recommendations for improvements. Role will require data analysis understanding of the systems workflow cross-functional communication and issues management. The role is responsible for effectively communicating with senior management as well as with colleagues from operations and business backgrounds.
This role is inherently cross-functionalthis leader will work closely with data scientists software engineers program management design operations finance legal business development customer service and executive teams to create dashboards and bring products to production across the different Amazon transportation teams. A successful candidate will be highly analytical resourceful customer-focused team oriented and will have an ability to work autonomously under time constraints to meet deadlines. The leader will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. - 4 years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift Oracle NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau Quicksight or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R SAS and Matlab
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2 DynamoDB S3 and Redshift
- Experience in data mining ETL etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale complex datasets
- Ability to leverage large language models and other Gen AI tools to automate data preprocessing feature engineering and insight generation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
