Physical and/or Occupational Therapist
Oncology Rehab is looking for one or more full-time physical and occupational therapists to work in our outpatient rehab facility. Our team of therapists work with patients who are experiencing decreased range of motion stiffness scarring/fibrosis lymphedema weakness/deconditioning neuropathy balance impairments pelvic floor dysfunction limitations in functional mobility and the occasional vestibular diagnosis related to cancer treatments. These patients may have received chemotherapy radiation and/or surgery. Training is provided through our oncology rehabilitation education platform PORi and mentorship is provided by our current PORi Certified Oncology Rehabilitation Therapists and Specialists.

This job posting is for our San Antonio office which partners with Methodist Hospital to provide rehab services at Methodist Cancer Care Rehabilitation Center. We are expanding and have an immediate opening for one or more full-time licensed physical or occupational therapists.
Education:
Current license as Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist in the State of Texas
Experience
Oncology Rehab does not require previous experience in treating cancer patients. Education will be provided through our oncology education platform PORi and all therapists will be provided with the tools and mentoring necessary to successfully manage this population. CLTs PRPCs and ABPTS Board Certified Oncologic Clinical Specialists are especially encouraged to apply but certifications are not required.
General Job Description:
Therapists at Oncology Rehab provide a wide variety of interventions including endurance strength and balance training functional training soft tissue mobilizations and lymphatic drainage techniques for patients experiencing side effects of cancer and its treatment. Patients are primarily ambulatory and high-functioning. Interventions will be familiar to rehab therapists and applied in such a way that considers the physiological implications of the patients specific cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Over the course of the rehabilitation therapists will evaluate document progress re-evaluate physical findings and modify treatment strategies as appropriate. Oncology Rehabs PTs and OTs work as a team with a variety of other professionals including referring physicians nurses navigators and speech pathologists - all with the same goal of reaching maximal patient functional independence.
License
Therapists at Oncology Rehab are expected to meet and maintain the requirements of professional licensure in the State of Texas.
