Three years of experience in offender records analysis offender classification offender pre-classification security or social services or as a probation or parole officer; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:
Data Entry and Case Management: Accurately enter sentencing and court documentation into the offender case management system (CAJUN/CIPRS) ensuring information is complete and up to date.
Sentence Review and Release Verification: Analyze sentencing records and time computations to confirm that release dates are lawful and calculated in accordance with state statutes and agency policy.
Criminal History Review: Conduct thorough criminal background reviews prior to release identifying potential holds warrants or detainers that could impact custody or supervision decisions.
This position works closely with a team of specialists assigned to a designated region of parishes. Together the team is responsible for managing intake and release processing reviewing case documents and coordinating with jails courts and other criminal justice partners to ensure timely and accurate case handling.

however should a permanent position become available
the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
Note regarding the advertised pay range:The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make at each level over their career and notthe amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
This posting may be used to fill other positions such as:
A rate between $1.00 and $3.00 an hourfor each hour worked based on years of service with DOC in addition to regular pay.
