Description of Job


This work unit exists to ensure the proper safety care health and welfare of all students staff and faculty in the area of buildings grounds security communication and transportation.

This position exists to provide safe transportation for students and staff through services such as driving training vehicle maintenance safety inspections and scheduling.


Brief Overview:

- Provide daily transportation of students by driving vans wheel chair vans and 45 passenger school buses. Other Transportation duties as assigned
- Schedule vehicles for staff use by responding to written and verbal requests maintaining a scheduling calendar for fourteen vehicles as far as a year in advance. Maintain all records as necessary for this task.
- Schedule and monitor vehicle maintenance based on standard preventive maintenance schedules and customer comments. Insure safety of vehicles by performing daily vehicle inspections including but not limited to inspection and maintenance of fluid and air pressure levels.
- Maintain appearance of vehicles by cleaning and vacuuming interiors and washing exteriors.
- Provide training to staff as required by State of Colorado and CDE rules and regulations including adverse weather driving and safety when transporting students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Only:

Two (2) yearsof relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position


Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with children/youth who are blind/visually impaired or special needs is preferred; e.g. paid child care teaching counseling etc.NOTE: One (1) full year of experience is equivalent to 2080 hours.
