Job Summary:
The Radiologic Technologist III is responsible for performing diagnostic MRI examinations as ordered by physicians.

Essential Job Functions:
- Provides technologist services for MRI that include the day to day operations patient and staff MRI safety and equipment logs/records related MRI.
- Must be able to operate and maintain MRI equipment. The Technologist will support equipment in such a manner as to perform and produce high quality images of specified anatomy.
- Provides minimal general radiography support when needed.
- Maintains production and quality of MRI exams by following established standards and procedures.
- Acquire and use a thorough knowledge of MRI and radiation physics principals with emphasis on continually learning new applications and development as they become available.
- Has knowledge and understanding of anatomy as it relates to MRI.
- Annual education through Healthstream MRI safety.
- Serve as the MRI Safety Officer at the designated facility if applicable.
- Assist with reception/scheduling duties.
- Works with a PACS system
- Maintains operating supplies by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures policies and regulations
- Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of procedures; answering questions
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Evaluates each patients completed medical questionnaire noting medical history complaints and appropriateness of scan prior to imaging.
- Assures patient and employee safety through competency in the use of all equipment and safety equipment including but not limited to: monitoring of patient implants and proper documentation of any incident in the department.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications Knowledge & Ability:
- Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S.
- Active certification in MRI by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Must possess a Wisconsin radiographer license
- BLS certification required upon hire
- Minimum of two years MRI experience preferred
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement
- Is aware of professional standards and performs in accordance with them
