Job Description

BELLINGHAM MASSACHUSETTS

TITLE: SEL COMMITTEE TEAM MEMBERS- DiPietro (4) Stall Brook (4) Memorial School (2)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Overall goal for this work: Build our capacity to provide high-quality support services for all students while building our students engagement in SEL skill-building activities.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work collaboratively with the members of the school-based SEL Team on the following:

1. In collaboration with the SEL Coach and building administration support colleagues in implementingthe social-emotional learning (SEL) Curriculum

2. Attend and actively participatein building-based SEL meetings which may occur up to 10 hours outside if the school day and district-provided SEL professional development sessions

3. Identify and promote professional development(PD) opportunities featuring social-emotionallearning (SEL) content throughout the school

4. In collaboration with the SEL Coach and building administration assist with school training implementationefforts

5. Support the implementationof school-wide assessments including assisting with scoring and analyzing data

6. Use the data inquiry cycle toidentify strengths of current programming and opportunities for continuousgrowth

7. Assist in the development of consistent and coherent Multi-Tiered Systems of Support to promote a consistent district-wide definition of social emotionallearning (SEL) and assistwith the development of the Tier 1 SEL Curriculum

8. Actively and iteratively deliver SEL practices aligned with the CASEL competencies

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Regular and/or special education Massachusetts certified teacher school adjustment counselor school psychologists or equivalent professionalstaff

2. Ability to attend SEL meetings outside of the school day/work with the leadership team

3. Skilledin collection and use of data for problem-solving and decision-making

4. Knowledgeand fluency with evidence-based SEL Practices (features practices and systems across tiers)

5. Understands basic behavioralprinciples

6. Familiar withcomponents and operationsof a proactive school-wide behavior discipline system

7. Ability to engage and facilitatein the datainquiry cycle and use available data sources to inform practice andrecommend adjustments to practice.

SALARY: DiPietro and Stall Brook$800 Stipend (payable 40% in November and60% in May/June)

Memorial: $500 Stipend(payable 40% in November and60% in May/June)

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent and Building Principal

The Bellingham Public School Districts enrollment is approximately 1930 students and an organizational staff of 400 employees. The district is split into the following building grade levels: DiPietro Elementary (Preschool Grade 3) Stall Brook Elementary (Preschool Grade 3) Bellingham Memorial School (grades 4-7) and Bellingham High School (grades 8-12) and Keough Memorial Academy (grades 7-12) is our therapeutic day school for students with special needs.
