You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailCamels Hump Middle School located in Richmond VT is a middle school consisting approximately 325 students in grades 5-8. We have grade-level teams with two to four core teachers per team. Our teaching model includes differentiated instruction in collaboration with special educators in all Math and ELA classes. Co-teaching plays a key role in our teaching and learning approach. We are seeking a middle-level certified Special Education teacher for a .75 teaching position for the begininng of the school year.
The ideal candidate for this position will:
-design and implement Individual Education Programs (IEP) for eligible students in accordance with state and local processes
-effectively implement and utilize progress monitoring tools in order to collect data to show student growth
-have experience supporting students with social cognition behavioral and social emotional needs
-ability to create strong positive relationships with students families and colleagues and values the importance of these relationships
-have experience training and supervising educational support staff
-have experience in planning leading and managing IEP meetings
-willing to collaborate with their co-teacher as well as other team special educators
-value and implement inclusive and equitable teaching practices as well as use a variety of instructional techniques and resources to create a differentiated learning space
-effectively communicate with all stakeholders to ensure all student needs are met
-have strong planning and instructional skills and experience in curriculum modification
-have a strong understanding and knowledge of middle level English Language Arts Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
