You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe CAC Family Advocate implements an early intervention and psychosocial support model actively representing the interest of victims of child sexual abuse and their non-offending caregivers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Services are aimed at stabilization and easing resumption of normal life thereby preventing pathological consequences of potentially traumatic situations.
The Family Advocate works collaboratively with caregivers and the multidisciplinary team from initial investigation through resolution of the childs case.
Building rapport with the non-offending caregiver during the initial visit to The CAC is required to conduct a thorough needs assessment and to ensure understanding of investigative process and dynamics of sexual abuse.
Provides some case management and resource linkage to ensure child has access to medical mental health educational and legal services.
Conducts assessments diagnostics and treatment through individual family and group therapy supportive counseling crisis intervention psychoeducation and resource coordination.
Provides community outreach professional presentations and other duties as assigned.
Demonstrate ability to engage children and families of all ages ethnicities genders and socioeconomic backgrounds to restore and enhance psychosocial functioning of individuals and families adversely affected by child abuse/trauma.

Education:
Masters degree in Social work or related field (e.g. psychology or counseling)
Licensure:
Licensure or temporary licensure
Licensed Masters in Social Work (LMSW); Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) LPC-Intern or LPC -Associate.
Experience:
Minimum of one years experience serving assessing treating or advocating on behalf of children and families who have experienced child abuse or trauma required.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of child welfare child advocacy criminal justice and a local community resource required.
Experience with basic Microsoft programs (Word Excel Power Point).
Ability to take initiative and work independently and also to work collaboratively.
Passion tenacity and optimism for the issues affecting child sexual abuse survivors and their families.
Experience maintaining professional boundaries and in self-care strategies.
Must be able to apply social work theory methos and techniques.
Ability to conduct objective psychosocial developmental and behavioral assessments.
Must be knowledgeable about post-traumatic symptoms signs and symptoms of child abuse and crisis intervention techniques.
Must be able to provide individual family and group solution-focused therapy and supportive counseling.
Must be able to work professionally and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary setting.
Strong writing and communication skills; excellent organization and planning skills.
Ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of dynamics of sexual abuse professional literature and current issues relevant to child sexual abuse preferred.
Experience working with multidisciplinary team.
Training in a state or nationally recognized Victim or Family advocacy program preferred.
Hours:
Monday - Friday.
Hours will be discussed during interview.
Some Evening hours may be required.
40 Hours per week
Work schedule may be adjusted according to business need
