Job Description

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire:

  • Earned Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education Early Childhood Special Education Special Education Education or closely related field is required
  • Experience as a direct service provider in early intervention or direct working experiences with children under the age of eight with diverse abilities and/or disabilities including at-risk young children is required
  • Field supervision experience in undergraduate/graduate early childhood and/or early childhood special education teacher preparation program is highly desirable
  • Experience in distance learning or online learning and education is highly desirable
  • Experience working with parents/families of young children with diverse abilities is highly desirable
  • Experience facilitating access to inclusive education classroom curricula for young children with diverse abilities is highly desirable

All employees of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) are required to complete training on policies and procedures administered by the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) under the supervision of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Institutional Equity/Title IX Coordinator. Required training includes: understanding and reporting conduct prohibited by the sexual misconduct protected class nondiscrimination and conflicts of interest in cases of amorous relationships policies related retaliation and compliance with accommodations regarding disability pregnancy or related conditions and religion. Salary Range: $50000 - $55000 / academic year. This position isExemptfrom the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Because this appointment is temporary you will not be eligible to receive all of the benefits normally provided to members of the university staff under the standard University of Colorado benefits programs. You are not eligible to receive paid vacation leave medical or retirement benefits. However you are eligible to accrue sick leave and you will accrue 0.034 hours of sick leave per hour worked.

Summary

The College of Education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Instructor position to begin August 2024. We are seeking an experienced professional with in-depth knowledge ineducationwith a specialization in inclusive early childhood education early childhood special education and/or early childhood leadership. Primaryteaching and advising responsibilities willbe in the Inclusive Early Childhood Education Bachelor of Arts Inclusive Early Childhood Leadership Bachelor of Innovation and/or Special Education courses across multiple programs. We are particularly interested in applicants who have a strong interest in inclusive innovative and collaborative approaches to teacher education especially school/university partnerships that leverage technology to enhance access.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience expertise or interest in rural and distance education.
